Hey @disqus_KS8tja0YDr:disqus – it’s pretty obvious what lockers came from homes/families, and what lockers were from garages, or businesses. If for some reason I ever got back into this, I’d avoid anything that obviously belonged to a family and focus on the units that were full of tools, camping gear, sports equipment, etc. There would be less of an emotional ride with those lockers, but those are also the units that can go for the most money. Any school that has sports teams, especially those that require bulky equipment, should consider investing in athletic lockers. Hockey and football players need a lot of large padding in order to stay properly protected, and it is important to make sure that they have a good place to store it so they won't forget anything. We have basic athletic lockers as well as enhanced models with lockboxes and footlockers.

Used half door and two person used lockers use as much space as a single full door locker, but they are split into two units, which doubles the number of lockers overall. These are extremely popular because they are a nice middle ground between full door and box lockers. They provide a moderate amount of storage space while also being more efficient on overall space than full door lockers. Used half door lockers are one unit over the other, each unit being the same with as a full door locker. Two person lockers are two vertical units side by side, which are the same width as one full door locker as well. They also have two small shelves overhead for storage of small items.
I agree with the suggestion about shipping your skis and boots, especially if you are not going to be using them after the Vail portion of your trip. Are you staying in LA for awhile or just making a connection there? If you are staying at a hotel in LA perhaps you could talk to them about having your equipment shipped there and stored as most hotels do have some sort of luggage storage facility. Hikers on the Appalachian Trail often ship supplies to US post offices that are in towns easily accessible to the trail so they don't have to carry everything with them. A lot will depend on your actual itinerary and whether you are stopping over in LA or just making a connection. You'll likely need to do some research and maybe think outside the box. I know it's always much nicer to ski on equipment you are used to but renting might end up being your best bet and the least hassle.

In my experience, most facilities give you 48 hours to have the unit cleared out and left in a “broom clean” condition (i.e. swept out). If you don’t get your stuff out, of if you choose to cherry pick a few items and leave the rest, then the facility can reclaim the locker and it would most likely be auctioned off again. You’d also most likely be banned from participating in future auctions held at that facility, or run by the auction house you dealt with. Lockers Denver Colorado
